MIA-MAR TAMA
Pictures are taken this summer out in the pasture and at home on her weaning weekend.
This red girl arrived on a very cold Wednesday morning about 6 am. The temperature dipped into the double digits below 0 Celcius. It didn't take her long to find the warm nourishment and to discover she was warmer moving than standing. She was galloping around within the hour. She tried the 'bounce', but she nearly fell over. The bounce will come with more steadiness.
As I stated on the other foal pages, my son is a drummer, and he is comming up with the names of the foals this year. All the names will be on the 'drum' theme. We have finally decided on a name for her, her name is Tama. Tama is a drum maker. Royce just got a new set of drums... and of course they are Tama.
This filly is absolutely sweet! She is curious and brave. She boldly walked up to me and then she went to check out all the other mares in the pen... much to her mommas distress! This is a nice sized filly with good proportions. UC Davis confirmed that she is indeed carrying the silver dapple gene, she will be retained for a future brood mare.
